Victor and CC&V mine finalize 25-year water agreement
The City of Victor has signed a 25-year agreement with the Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mine for water services. This deal will lead to a 15% increase in the mine’s water rate starting April 1, with annual hikes of 5.75% thereafter. The agreement includes a new capital payment from the mine to help the city improve its water infrastructure. City officials expect this deal to provide important resources over the next quarter-century. These funds will support services like public safety and infrastructure maintenance. Mayor Barbara Manning expressed excitement about the agreement. She stated that it strengthens the city’s financial foundation and ensures reliable water systems. The capital payment will be crucial for maintaining and enhancing water services for both the city and the mine. Additionally, the agreement guarantees that the gold mine will continue its operations without interruption. This partnership is seen as beneficial for both the city and the mine, which is a key part of the local community.
