Veneto reports its first autochthonous Dengue fever case. A 53-year-old resident was diagnosed without recent travel to endemic countries. The diagnosis was made by the Infectious and Tropical Diseases Unit. Dengue is mosquito-borne and not transmitted between humans. The region is implementing surveillance and disinfestation measures. Previous Veneto cases were travel-related.
