Valley law enforcement boosts presence to prevent holiday drinking and driving

Law enforcement in the Valley increased their presence over the Thanksgiving holiday to discourage drinking and driving. Officers responded to multiple DUI incidents, including a fatal crash in Madera County where a man died after hitting a tree. The California Highway Patrol and Fresno Police are conducting DUI checkpoints and patrols through Sunday. This year, Fresno has reported 50 fatalities, with a third linked to DUI drivers. Visalia Police are also on alert for impaired, distracted, and fatigued drivers. They aim to ensure a safe holiday season for all. Officers encourage using designated drivers or rideshare services if drinking.
