USPS to cut 10,000 jobs nationwide

The United States Postal Service (USPS) plans to cut about 10,000 jobs in the next month, according to Postmaster General Louis DeJoy. This follows a voluntary retirement program announced in January. Currently, USPS employs around 640,000 people and has reduced its workforce by 30,000 since 2021. The agency is facing significant financial challenges, projecting a loss of $200 billion. DeJoy's announcement comes as he prepares to step down after nearly five years. Recently, USPS also advertised for new part-time, full-time, and seasonal positions.
