US reports positive progress in Gaza ceasefire talks

The United States reported that talks for a second phase of a Gaza ceasefire are progressing. Hamas announced it is prepared to release all remaining prisoners in exchange for the bodies of four Israeli prisoners. Since the ceasefire began on January 19, Hamas has released 25 Israeli prisoners, while Israel has freed over 1,100 Palestinians. Negotiations for the next phase are set to take place in either Doha or Cairo. Hamas accused Israel of delaying the release of 620 Palestinian prisoners, which it claims jeopardizes the truce. Both sides have accused each other of ceasefire violations, but the ceasefire has largely remained intact.
