U.S. report reveals locations of China's nuclear missile silos and growing capabilities
The U.S. Defense Department has disclosed the locations of hundreds of China's intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) silos, revealing a significant increase in China's nuclear capabilities. The report indicates China now has over 600 operational nuclear warheads, up from last year. The silos are situated in three fields in northern China and five sites in central and southeastern regions. The Pentagon noted that China is likely expanding its ICBM force, which includes various missile classes capable of reaching the U.S. China has halted arms control talks with the U.S. amid tensions over American arms sales to Taiwan.
