Urban representatives in Panchkula take oath to serve

Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini welcomed newly-elected local representatives in Panchkula. He urged them to set aside party politics and focus on important issues like drug abuse, cleanliness, and raising awareness for the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign. At the oath-taking ceremony, Saini assured the representatives of government support for their efforts. He highlighted their role in ensuring the state's progress and emphasized their responsibility for implementing government development projects in cities. The Chief Minister announced the launch of the Manas Portal, which will provide information about drug abuse. He also noted that the Haryana government has taken steps to decentralize powers for urban local bodies. Saini mentioned that funding for municipalities has increased significantly. The budget for urban local bodies was raised from Rs 3,114 crore to Rs 5,666 crore for the upcoming financial year. The event was attended by BJP state president Mohan Lal Badoli, ministers, and local MLAs.
