UP STF captures wanted criminal in Nashik, Maharashtra
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UP STF) arrested a wanted criminal named Satyendra Kharwar, also known as Lakhendar, on Saturday in Nashik, Maharashtra. He had a reward of Rs 50,000 for his capture. Satyendra, in his 20s, is linked to many serious crimes. These include attempts to murder, rioting, and possessing illegal weapons. Vinod Kumar Singh, an additional superintendent of police with the STF, confirmed that Satyendra is involved in at least 13 criminal cases in Mau district. The STF tracked him down based on intelligence reports. A team led by inspector Amit Srivastava from Varanasi conducted the operation. Sub-inspector Angad Singh Yadav led the team that captured him. One notable case involves an attack on a man named Sanjeet. Satyendra and his associates attacked him with a knife in June 2024 over a past rivalry. He has been on the run since that incident. After his arrest, Satyendra was taken to a local court in Nashik. Legal arrangements for his transfer back to Uttar Pradesh are currently being made. Investigators are also looking into his connections with other criminal activities and gang networks.
