UMaine announces 2025 football schedule featuring two bowl teams

The University of Maine has released its 2025 football schedule, which includes two games against Football Bowl Subdivision teams. The Black Bears will open the season at Liberty on August 30 and play at Georgia Southern on September 20. Both Liberty and Georgia Southern participated in bowl games this season. Liberty finished with an 8-3 record and will face Buffalo in the Bahamas Bowl, while Georgia Southern, with an 8-4 record, plays Sam Houston State in the New Orleans Bowl. Maine, which ended the previous season with a 5-7 record, will start its Coastal Athletic Association schedule on September 6 at William & Mary. The Black Bears will host Stonehill in their home opener the following week.
