UK voters urge Keir Starmer to confront Donald Trump over Ukraine comments

British voters want their leaders to criticize U.S. President Donald Trump after his recent comments about Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky. A poll shows 50% support standing up to Trump, while 30% prefer not to criticize him. Trump's remarks included calling Zelensky a "modestly successful comedian" and falsely claiming Ukraine started the war with Russia. The UK public largely supports Ukraine, with 67% backing its defense against the Russian invasion. Labour leader Keir Starmer reaffirmed his support for Zelensky and spoke with him on Wednesday. The Prime Minister and Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch also expressed their backing for Ukraine and its leadership during wartime.
