UK startup Spirit EV aims to transform classic car designs into electric vehicles

UK startup RBW has launched a new company, Spirit EV, to help other businesses create custom electric vehicles with classic designs. This follows the success of RBW's Roadster and GT models, which impressed attendees at Monterey Car Week. Spirit EV will offer design and production services, allowing sports and classic car builders to develop electric vehicles. The company aims to leverage RBW's experience and reduce costs by purchasing components in bulk. Based in the UK, Spirit EV plans to open a factory in Danville, Virginia, by February 2025. The initiative is backed by $6 million in funding and aims to reach profitability with an estimated $20 million investment.
