UK loan will enhance Ukraine's weapons production capabilities

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that a £2.26 billion ($2.84 billion) loan from the UK will support weapons production in Ukraine. The loan is part of a $50 billion support package from G-7 nations, funded by profits from frozen Russian assets. The loan agreement was signed by UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves and Ukraine's Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko. The first payment is expected next week. Zelensky expressed gratitude for the UK's ongoing support since the war began. Zelensky met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London, following tensions with US leaders over Ukraine's handling of support. He is scheduled to meet King Charles III and attend a meeting at Lancaster House.
