UK government confirms £50 million funding for Eden Project Morecambe

The UK government has confirmed a £50 million funding commitment for the Eden Project Morecambe, a planned eco-visitor attraction in Lancashire. This funding was previously part of the Levelling Up fund, which Labour had not committed to. Local MP Lizzi Collinge announced that the project is set to create 1,400 jobs and attract nearly one million visitors annually. The project aims to transform Morecambe, which has faced economic challenges. Paperwork between Lancashire County Council and the Ministry of Housing is expected to be finalized soon. The Eden Project Morecambe is scheduled to open in 2027 or 2028.
