UAE golfer Ahmad Skaik returns to Challenge Tour

Ahmad Skaik, a star player for the UAE National Team, is preparing for his return to the Challenge Tour events in the UAE next month. These tournaments are a critical step in his journey toward becoming a professional golfer. For the third year in a row, the DP World Tour’s feeder circuit will take place in the UAE. The action begins with the UAE Challenge from April 10-13 at Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club. This will be the first time this location hosts a European Tour group event. The following week, the Abu Dhabi Challenge will take place at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club from April 17-20. These back-to-back events will showcase both emerging talents and experienced players trying to return to the global golf scene. They also help develop UAE National Team players and local amateurs. The Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) has a long-term partnership with the European Tour group, which provides spots for 30 UAE players in these competitions. Skaik has greatly benefited from these events over the past two years. He will compete alongside other UAE National Team members. Skaik expressed his gratitude for the partnership, stating it has been valuable for his growth. He feels competition against sharper players helps him improve. Recently, Skaik achieved a significant milestone at the 2025 GCC Golf Championship, winning both individual and team gold for the UAE. His score of 18-under-par was a record for the tournament. This success is rooted in the experience he gained from playing 12 Challenge Tour events. Skaik continues to strive for greater achievements. He hopes to turn professional by the end of this year after competing in the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship. While he aims to make the cut in upcoming UAE events, his goals extend beyond that. Achieving this would make him the first amateur from the UAE to make the cut in a European Tour event, marking a major accomplishment for the nation's golf development.
