A court in Ernakulam has sentenced two men to ten years in prison for drug trafficking. Susimol M. Sunny, 26, and Ameer Sohail, 25, were found guilty of supplying MDMA, a popular illegal drug, and must also pay a fine of ₹1 lakh. The other accused in the case, Ajmal K.A. and Elroy Varghese, were acquitted due to insufficient evidence. The ruling was made by Judge P.M. Suresh Babu. Authorities began investigating the drug racket in October 2023. The suspects had a unique method of delivering drugs by hiding MDMA packages in garbage piles. They would then quickly depart on high-end motorcycles. The Ernakulam Excise team worked tirelessly to make these arrests and handle the case.
