TV news coverage shows stark bias in 2024 presidential race, analysis finds
A new analysis from the Media Research Center shows that TV news coverage of the 2024 presidential race is the most biased in history. Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris received 78% positive coverage, while former President Donald Trump faced 85% negative coverage. This coverage disparity is greater than in previous elections. In 2016, Trump had 91% negative coverage, and in 2020, he received 92% negative coverage compared to Joe Biden's 66% positive coverage. The report highlights that major networks have focused heavily on negative stories about Trump while giving Harris mostly positive coverage. Despite this, Trump has gained ground in the polls as Election Day approaches.
