This project follows a maritime agreement between Turkey and Somalia, indicating stronger ties between the two nations. Previously, Turkey conducted missile tests at a smaller site in Sinop. The new spaceport reflects Turkey's growing ambitions in space, despite ongoing economic challenges at home.
