Trump approves extradition of Mumbai attack suspect Tahawwur Rana to India
US President Donald Trump has approved the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, accused in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. This decision follows the US Supreme Court's rejection of Rana's appeal on January 21, clearing the way for his return to India. During a press briefing with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Trump described Rana as a "very violent man" and confirmed that the US is working with India on the logistics of his extradition. Rana has exhausted all legal options in the US. Rana, a Canadian citizen of Pakistani origin, is accused of aiding the main planner of the attacks. He was arrested in 2009 and previously convicted for supporting a terror group but acquitted of direct involvement in the attacks.
