Trump announces extradition of Mumbai terror attack suspect Tahawwur Rana to India
US President Donald Trump announced the extradition of Tahawwur Rana to India. Rana is accused of involvement in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks that killed 164 people. His extradition follows a US Supreme Court ruling on January 21, 2025. Rana, currently in a US prison, had connections to the attackers and communicated with David Headley. He is also linked to Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence. Indian authorities will interrogate him regarding his role in the attacks. Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked Trump for facilitating the extradition, allowing Rana to face trial in India. The US State Department supports India's efforts for justice in this case.
