Trudeau visits Europe to strengthen trade ties and discuss AI with allies
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is visiting Europe from Saturday to Wednesday to strengthen trade relationships amid strained Canada-U.S. ties. He aims to explore new trade opportunities and partnerships, particularly with the EU, which is Canada’s second-largest trading partner. In Paris, Trudeau will participate in the AI Action Summit, emphasizing Canada's leadership in artificial intelligence and the need for international collaboration. He plans to meet with global leaders to discuss trade, security, and economic stability. Trudeau will also stop in Brussels for a Canada-EU Leaders’ Meeting, focusing on support for Ukraine and the CETA trade agreement. This trip may be one of his last as prime minister before stepping down after the Liberal leadership election on March 9.
