Triston Casas out of Red Sox lineup after hand injury
Boston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas was not in the lineup after being hit in the hand by a ground ball. This injury occurred during an exhibition game against the Sultanes de Monterrey in Mexico on Monday. Casas underwent X-rays on his right hand. Thankfully, the results came back negative, meaning there were no serious injuries. However, as a precaution, the Red Sox decided to sit him out for their next game. Manager Alex Cora replaced him with Nick Sogard at first base. Casas is considered an important player for the team. He was a finalist for the American League Rookie of the Year in 2023. Last season, he struggled with injuries, playing only 63 games. The Red Sox hope for a strong comeback season from him in 2025. More updates on this situation are expected soon.
