Train service restoration project for Navan set to start soon
A project to restore passenger train service to Navan, Co Meath, is set to begin, aiming for completion before 2035. The new rail line will connect Navan to the existing M3 Parkway station, covering about 20 kilometers. The project will include new stations in Dunshaughlin and Kilmessan. Planning and funding approvals are required, with the delivery phase expected between 2030 and 2035. Initial work will focus on design and route selection over the next two years. Funding comes from the Department of Transport through the National Transport Authority. Iarnród Éireann states the train service will provide faster travel options and support local growth while reducing road traffic.
