Torrential rains displace 26 in Como region, sinkhole halts train near Lecco

Torrential rains caused 26 people to be evacuated from their homes in the Como region. The severe weather, concentrated overnight, also led to a train being stopped near Lecco due to a sinkhole and blocked roads with debris and mud. Damage was reported across the Lombardy pre-Alpine area, including flooded underpasses and damaged buildings, with some areas experiencing similar issues a year prior.
