Toms River man sentenced for shooting another man
A man from Toms River has been sentenced to five years in prison for shooting another man last June. Anthony Brown, 20, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and illegal weapon charges. On June 12, 2024, Brown fired two shots at a vehicle, hitting a male victim in the leg. After the shooting, he fled the scene but was arrested later by Toms River Police near Adams Avenue. Brown received a four-year sentence for aggravated assault and a five-year sentence for possessing a weapon unlawfully. These sentences will be served at the same time. The victim was treated at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center and has since been released.
