Tiruchendur prepares for temple consecration with tight security
Tiruchendur is under heightened security as it prepares for the consecration ceremony of the Subramanya Swamy temple, expecting over a million pilgrims. The event is scheduled for Monday, July 7th, after a 16-year gap. Approximately 6,000 police officers and 520 fire and rescue personnel have been deployed to manage the large crowds and ensure safety. The ceremony will begin early Monday morning, with devotees already gathering by Sunday afternoon. Emergency medical facilities, drinking water, and mobile toilets have been set up for the pilgrims. Drone services will be used to sprinkle holy water, and authorities have urged devotees to avoid congregating in one area.
