In Cuddalore district, three people were arrested for illegal prenatal sex determination. The arrests took place on Tuesday, and those arrested include two women, aged 32. The health department officials from Salem district worked with the local police after receiving a tip-off about the illegal activities. A team was formed to investigate, led by Dr. S P Nandhini and N Yogananth. They tracked a pregnant woman traveling to the area for the sex determination of her fetus. At around 3 PM, the team caught the suspects in the act while they were examining another pregnant woman. The police were called to the scene, and they arrested the three individuals. Authorities seized an ultrasound machine and abortifacient pills from the premises. The suspects are expected to be presented in court on Wednesday.
