Theatre performer pleads guilty to voyeurism charges in Edinburgh

Thomas Jason Connell, 27, pleaded guilty to eight charges of voyeurism and possessing indecent images of children. He secretly filmed women and children changing costumes in Edinburgh theatre dressing rooms and recorded children at a swimming pool. Connell was previously placed on the sex offenders register for child abuse images found on his phone. Police discovered videos of him using hidden cameras to capture individuals undressing at various locations between 2019 and 2022. The court heard that victims, including minors, were unaware of the recordings and described them as shocking and a violation of trust. Connell has been remanded in custody, with sentencing set for next month.
