Tesla to unveil Cybercab robotaxi in Austin on Sept. 3

Tesla will unveil its production Cybercab at an event in Austin, Texas, on September 3, as the company accelerates its self-driving initiatives central to its growth strategy. The two-seat robotaxi has no steering wheel or pedals, marking Tesla's first vehicle designed purely for autonomy using its Full Self-Driving software. The announcement follows Nevada's approval of permits for Tesla, Waymo, and Uber to operate commercial robotaxis in Clark County. Tesla received the largest allocation of about 5,000 robotaxis, though it expects to field roughly 2,500 within the year. Waymo was cleared for up to 1,000 vehicles, with Uber securing 1,000 more through partnerships.
