Tesla sets UK price for new Model Y at £44,990, surpassing Xpeng G6
Tesla has announced the new Model Y will start at £44,990 in the UK, which is £5,000 more than the rival Xpeng G6. The Long Range version will cost £48,990, also higher than the Xpeng. The Model Y offers better range, with the Rear-Wheel Drive version claiming 311 miles compared to 270 miles for the Xpeng. The Long Range Model Y can reach 387 miles, while the Long Range Xpeng offers 354 miles. Improvements include better build quality, reduced noise, and redesigned suspension for a softer ride. The new Model Y will be built in Tesla's Berlin factory, avoiding tariffs on imports from China. Deliveries are expected in April or May.
