Tesla Cybercab launch set for September 3rd in Austin

Tesla will unveil its production Cybercab at an event in Austin, Texas, on September 3rd, marking a key step in its robotaxi expansion. The vehicle is central to Tesla's growth strategy. The two-seat Cybercab has no steering wheel or pedals, making it Tesla's first vehicle designed purely for autonomy. It will operate on the company's Full Self-Driving software as part of its Robotaxi fleet, which launched in Austin last year. The launch follows Nevada regulators approving permits for Tesla, Waymo, and Uber to run commercial robotaxis in Clark County, with Tesla receiving the largest allocation of around 5,000 vehicles. Tesla must still prove the Cybercab can operate safely without a driver.
