Starting March 25, Tamil Nadu will see rising temperatures as summer takes hold. Most areas will experience dry weather, except for some districts near the Western Ghats, which may get light rain until Wednesday. The Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai reports that dry conditions will spread across the state by March 27. Recent rains in southern Tamil Nadu have kept temperatures lower, but the heat is expected to increase. The RMC has issued a warning. High temperatures and humidity, along with night temperatures that are two to three degrees above normal, may make conditions uncomfortable until March 28. On Monday, Vellore recorded the hottest temperature at 37.6 degrees Celsius. P. Senthamarai Kannan, Director of the Area Cyclone Warning Centre, mentioned a weather system could bring isolated rainfall to western districts. Temperatures are expected to rise by two to three degrees in some parts of Tamil Nadu starting Tuesday. This March, the state has seen 46.2 mm of rain, nearly three times its average amount. This is one of the highest March rainfalls in recent decades, attributed to specific weather patterns. Chennai will also face higher temperatures, ranging from 35 to 36 degrees Celsius until Wednesday. In celebration of World Meteorological Day, the RMC opened its campuses in Nungambakkam, Meenambakkam, and Rajai Salai on Monday for public visits to showcase meteorological facilities.
