Tamil Nadu health chief highlights state's leadership in health initiatives at program launch
Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin announced that the state's Health Department is a leader in India for its health initiatives. He spoke at the launch of the 'Healthy India, Happy India' program in Vellore on December 7, 2024. Udhayanidhi highlighted the recent U.N. award for the Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam scheme, which has benefited around two crore people. He noted a 42% increase in organ donors due to proactive health measures introduced by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. The 'Healthy India, Happy India' initiative, a collaboration between Naruvi Hospitals and The Hindu, aims to promote health awareness and encourage healthier lifestyles across the country.
