TalkTalk shuts Origin Broadband, transfers customers

Origin Broadband, a subsidiary of TalkTalk, will cease operations in weeks, transferring approximately 95,000 customers to Utility Warehouse. This transition will occur starting June 1st. Customers will automatically have their broadband and home phone services moved to Utility Warehouse, with no action required and no changes to their bills. Utility Warehouse has been providing the services since March 28th, with Origin managing customer support until the upcoming transfer. Origin was acquired by TalkTalk in 2021. The company stopped accepting new customers after the takeover, though briefly resumed accepting them late last year. Utility Warehouse aims to integrate the new customers into its existing base.
