Taiwan's high-speed rail quickly repaired typhoon damage
Typhoon Danas caused disruptions to Taiwan's high-speed rail, but service was restored ahead of schedule thanks to rapid repairs. Transportation Minister Chen Shih-kai visited the high-speed rail control center on Monday to commend staff for their efforts in responding to the typhoon, which caused overnight delays and required extensive track clearing. The railway was able to resume full operations by 9:40 AM. High-speed rail officials reported numerous instances of debris detected by the safety systems, leading to delays. The railway prioritized safety, implementing speed restrictions and thorough inspections to ensure passenger safety.
