Taipei expands urban renewal near Nvidia's tech park

Nvidia's planned headquarters in Taipei's Beitou-Shilin Technology Park (BeishiKe) has prompted the city to designate an additional 13.2 hectares for urban renewal. This expansion aims to address anticipated housing demand and streamline the development process. The Taipei City government is responding to rising property values in the area, with pre-sale units already exceeding NT$1 million per ping. The new designation allows legal property owners within the updated zones to bypass certain procedural steps, potentially accelerating renewal projects. The city's Department of Urban Development has also highlighted the existing 1,232 social housing units in the vicinity. The expanded urban renewal area, pending final approval, reflects increased development interest in the BeishiKe area.
