SWISS flight attendant dies after emergency landing due to cabin smoke
A SWISS flight attendant died on December 30, a week after an emergency landing due to smoke in the cabin of flight LX1885 from Bucharest to Zurich. The attendant was hospitalized in critical condition after collapsing while searching for the smoke source. The incident occurred on December 23 when the Airbus A220-300 made an emergency landing in Graz. Two flight attendants and ten passengers were hospitalized, with one in critical care. SWISS is investigating the cause, which preliminary findings suggest was a technical problem in one of the engines. The airline is also reviewing the protective breathing equipment used during the incident. Previous issues with these smoke hoods led SWISS to replace over 1,000 units earlier this year. The aircraft remains grounded in Graz for further inspection.
