Suspect arrested in Oakland homicide, released without charges
Police arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with a homicide in Oakland but released him days later without charges. The man was linked to the December 27 shooting death of Pablo Rincon, a 27-year-old Stockton resident. Rincon was shot on the 4000 block of Edwards Avenue during what authorities believe was a dispute related to jewelry. A woman was also injured in the shooting but survived. The suspect denied killing Rincon, claiming he was in Marin County at the time of the incident. While a pistol was found in his home, it was ruled out as the weapon used in the shooting. However, the man did admit to involvement in jewelry store heists in San Francisco and Danville. The investigation into Rincon's homicide is still ongoing, and police are seeking additional information from the public.
