Suspect appeared in court after Walmart rampage in Michigan
A man named Gavin Lisle Love, 25, appeared in court on video after being arrested for a rampage at a Walmart store in Holland Township, Michigan. He was carried into the court by sheriff’s deputies because he was restrained. This happened after he allegedly caused damage at the Ottawa County Jail. Love is charged with malicious destruction of property worth more than $1,000. The charge could carry a maximum penalty of ten years because he is considered a habitual offender. He has previous convictions, including for assaulting police. During the court hearing, Love appeared upset, and deputies had to hold him. His attorney requested a lower bond so Love could leave jail and improve his situation. However, the judge set the bond at $50,000, considering public safety and Love's actions at the jail. The incident at Walmart occurred on a Friday evening when Love damaged multiple TVs and display cases, costing thousands of dollars. Although he did not threaten anyone, many customers and children were present during the destruction. Police are seeking information about the incident.
