Street Sharks returns with a new comic book series

The '90s animated series *Street Sharks* is returning with a new comic book series, marking its first new release in over two decades. The series will launch in September. Mattel and IDW Publishing are collaborating on a five-issue comic series, *Street Sharks #1*, written by Stephanie Williams and illustrated by Ariel Medel. The comic will feature the shark-human heroes battling mutated threats in Fission City. This revival follows a trend of bringing back beloved '90s animated properties, with similar projects announced for *Toxic Crusaders*, *Speed Racer*, and *Gatchaman*. The original *Street Sharks* series debuted in 1994.
