Strava upgrades route planning with smarter search and offline maps

9to5mac.com —

Strava announced new features today to improve route planning and discovery for runs, hikes, and rides, including smarter search, offline maps, and redesigned route cards. The updates include more intuitive search on the Maps tab, an expanded route inventory, and redesigned route cards with photos and activity data. Offline Maps will let saved routes appear on the home screen without signal, with workouts uploading once service returns. Subscribers will soon receive turn-by-turn audio directions and community-generated tags for routes. Route discovery will also expand to the web, allowing users to browse routes from their browsers.
