Strava Adds Smarter Search and Offline Maps for Route Discovery

macobserver.com —

Strava has launched updates to improve route discovery, adding smarter search tools, redesigned route cards, and offline navigation for runners, hikers, and cyclists. The new search feature lets users type plain-language queries in the Maps tab to match route names or points of interest. Redesigned route cards display photos and activity details from others, while a larger curated path inventory offers more choices. Saved routes now appear on the home screen without a signal, and workouts can be saved offline to upload later. Paid subscribers will soon get turn-by-turn audio directions, and community-generated tags for points of interest like waterfalls are planned. These features will also come to the web version, helping users explore larger maps on a computer.
