Storm Luise injures two in Germany as Manja approaches
Storm "Luise" swept across parts of Germany, causing damage and leaving two people seriously injured. A new storm, "Manja," is already approaching. The first strong autumn storm hit the west and southwest hardest, with fallen trees and branches blocking roads and rail lines. In Nastätten, Rhineland-Palatinate, a gust toppled a structure at an October market, seriously injuring two people, one critically. Rail services were disrupted, including an ICE stranded near Aachen and a regional train hitting a branch near Pforzheim. "Luise" is expected to move toward the Baltic Sea and Denmark by Saturday, but "Manja" will bring heavy rain and strong winds from Sunday, with gusts up to 100 km/h possible at the North Sea coast and a potential storm surge in Hamburg.
