Stockholm expands bicycle access on its light rail
Passengers will soon be allowed to bring bicycles on the Roslagsbanan, Nockebybanan, and Lidingöbanan, expanding a policy already in place on the Tvärbanan. This initiative aims to integrate public transport with cycling. The decision follows a successful pilot program on the Tvärbanan and is part of Stockholm's goal to have 20% of all trips made by bicycle by 2030. Rush hour restrictions will apply, and bikes must be secured in designated areas. The Spårväg City line will remain an exception. The policy, inspired by European cities, seeks to make public transport more attractive for leisure travel and cycling in natural areas.
