Steven Sims joins the Seahawks as wide receiver

The Seattle Seahawks have signed wide receiver Steven Sims, the team announced on Tuesday. Sims, who is 27 years old, has played for the Houston Texans and the Baltimore Ravens in the past year. In 2024, Sims participated in 10 offensive plays and 78 special teams plays. He averaged 5.8 yards on 21 punt returns and 27.9 yards on seven kickoff returns. Sims entered the NFL undrafted in 2019 after playing at Kansas and initially signed with Washington. Throughout his career, Sims has also played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, in addition to his time with Houston and Baltimore. He has made 78 receptions for 704 yards and scored five touchdowns. He has also rushed 25 times for 174 yards, including a 65-yard touchdown. Sims is best known as a returner in the league. He has played 53 regular-season games, recording 74 punt returns for 462 yards and 62 kick returns for 819 yards. He has one return touchdown in the regular season and one in the playoffs.
