Steven Gerrard wore Manchester United shirt as a child

Steven Gerrard, a famous player for Liverpool, shared a funny childhood story about wearing a Manchester United shirt. He recalled the incident in his autobiography. As a child, Gerrard admired United's Bryan Robson and wore a friend’s Robson jersey while playing outside. Gerrard said he felt great wearing the shirt during their street kickabout. He pretended to be Robson, enjoying the game until his father discovered what he was wearing. His father was furious when he saw his son in the rival team's colors. His dad yelled for him to come inside. Gerrard explained that it was just a Robson shirt, but that did not calm his father. His dad insisted that wearing a Manchester United shirt was unacceptable. Gerrard feared his father might kick him out of the house for the mistake. Gerrard went on to have a successful football career with Liverpool, making his debut in 1998 and playing for 17 years. He became a club legend, winning several major trophies before joining LA Galaxy in 2015. After retiring, he began coaching. Gerrard managed Rangers and then Aston Villa in the Premier League. He recently worked with a club in Saudi Arabia but left in January 2024. Currently, there are rumors about him possibly returning to manage Rangers again.
