Sterling and Wilson shares rise 8% after order announcement
Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy saw its share price rise over 8% on Tuesday after announcing new orders. Shares increased to ₹ 272.25 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). This comes despite the stock having declined 43% in 2025 so far. The company received three new contracts for solar and hybrid projects, worth ₹ 1,470 crore. This includes contracts for a 200 MW solar project and a wind project in Rajasthan. These projects mark a significant expansion into wind energy for Sterling and Wilson. Chandra Kishore Thakur, CEO of Sterling and Wilson, expressed excitement about these new opportunities. He noted that entering the wind segment allows the company to offer comprehensive solutions for hybrid projects. Despite recent struggles, the stock has delivered significant returns in the past five years.
