The State government has approved a ₹30 crore master plan for the Vayalur Murugan temple in Kumaravayalur. This plan includes eight projects, such as a new Valli thirumana mandapam, community halls, and a parking lot. E-tenders for the construction work were issued last month, with bids set to be opened next month. The entire project is expected to be completed within 18 months after the contract is awarded. Currently, about 85% to 90% of the preliminary works are finished. The temple's consecration ceremony is scheduled for next month, marking the first such event since March 2006.
