Startup funding in India rises 10% to $7.9 billion
Private equity and venture capital funding rose to $7.9 billion in the first quarter of 2025, marking a 10% increase from the same period last year. This growth indicates strong investor confidence in the market. In March alone, these investments reached $2.7 billion, up $500 million from March 2024. Significant deals included Bain Capital's investment of Rs 4,390 crore in Manappuram Finance and Actis' $163 million in Stride Climate Investments. Darwinbox also made headlines with a $140 million funding round co-led by Partners Group and KKR. Experts believe these investments reflect a growing trust in India's private markets and the potential for future growth.
