Starling Bank to end interest on current accounts starting February 10

mirror.co.uk

Starling Bank will stop paying interest on current accounts starting February 10, 2025. Customers currently earn 3.25% interest on balances up to £5,000, but this feature will be removed. Instead, Starling is offering a new 4% easy-access savings account linked to the current account. This account can yield £204 in interest annually for a £5,000 balance, but the rate is variable. The change follows a recent cut in the Bank of England's base rate from 4.75% to 4.5%. Other banks currently offer higher rates for cash ISAs and easy-access accounts.
