Asia's largest tulip garden in Srinagar, Kashmir, is set to open on March 26. It features 1.7 million tulips of 74 different varieties. The garden, located near the Zabarwan Hills and Dal Lake, is being prepared by hundreds of gardeners. They aim to have the garden fully blooming for the opening. With spring in the air, preparations are in full swing. The Floriculture Department is also planning a Tulip Spring Festival for April. Asif Ahmad Itoo, a Floriculture Officer, noted that tulips are a key attraction for tourists. Last year, the garden welcomed around 465,000 visitors, and this year they hope to see even more. In addition to tulips, the garden will feature various other flowers like daffodils and hyacinths. This aims to create a colorful display for visitors. Shakeel Ur Rehman, the Director of Floriculture, mentioned that the garden has become a major tourist spot over the past twenty years. He expects an increase in visitors this year, especially with Ramadan ending soon. Established in 2008, the garden was created to boost tourism in the region during springtime. Last year, it was recognized in the World Book of Records as Asia's largest tulip garden.
